Saturday, October 29, 2016. My team and I bounced on the bus for a few hours on the way to Ford Dodge. We sat in silence most of the way. I found out that I need to trust God with the results. Colossians 3:17 says “Whatever you do, whether in word or in deed, do it all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” It’s not up to me to try and evaluate the outcome of events. I am merely the means of which things can happen. It is my job to do those things to the best of my ability. In this case, it was my job to run that race to the best of my ability. It was not up to me to decide if I did good or not or if I performed on par with other runners. It was up to me to “do it all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” and “give thanks to the Father” for the outcome, regardless of how I felt or others felt about it. Maybe I didn’t run one of the better races of my life. But that does not give me the right to complain about how my life turns out.
