Cross Country
The Coral Springs Cross Country team finished the season with county championships; boys finished 2nd and girls finished 3rd. They were the top public schools in Broward County.
At the district meet, boys were champions for the 2nd year in a row. The girls finished 2nd but only lost by one point to Stoneman Douglas High School.
At regionals, the following week after districts, boys finished 5th. Individual runner Issac Louigene finished 2nd and Khiro Hoilett finished 3rd, qualifying both for states. The girls finished in 8th with Yasmeen Hammad qualifying for states finishing with 12th place.
The boys finished 21st and Louigene finished 25th overall at the state meet. Hammad finished 66th with a career best time of almost 20 seconds.

Swimming
The Coral Springs boys’ and girls’ swim team qualified for regionals at the end of the season with their relays. The girls’ 400 freestyle relay along with the boys’ 200 and 400 freestyle relays at districts allowed the team to make it to regionals. The boys also ranked in the top 8. Many swimmers had individual events, including Andres McKeon, Immanuel Olmos, Jamar Calixte, and Tyler Oviedo.
At regionals, everybody could swim faster and drop time off their speed. “Every single person who swam regionals did better than they had done in any point during the season,” said Coach Barbosa. McKeon also made it to state competitions, the first time in 9 years for the team, where he placed 21st. Overall, the season ended on a good note with everyone giving their all and doing their best.
Swimmers who could make these achievements possible include McKeon, Olmos, Calixte, and Oviedo for the boys, and Nicole Woods, Hannah Gilman, Juanita Montoya, and Madison Perez. Coral Springs High School is lucky to have these hard-working individuals represent the
