Sitting in my first composition class in college was a little intimidating ,I was both nervous and excited when i was asked to write a passage about myself .The reason why i was nervous was because i had never seen myself as a strong writer even though the passage wasn't going to be graded the fact that my teacher was going to read it made me feel anxious. Later on in the week we got our first assignment it was to write a reader's response about a certain passage that we could relate to in a book that we had started reading called “The Norton Field Guide to Writing with Reading” the topic i choose to write about was how to have a open mind, in the chapter it talked about the importance of having an open mind whether it's with talking to people

What an amazing critical thinking response. Your post made me think more into the situations and the feelings that someone with dementia has and feels. You put a lot of thought into what you post and that's awesome. I think a lot of people get too frustrated too quickly with someone who is suffering from this disease , and rather than help the person, they give up too quickly. Daily duties is something I never thought off that could help someone.…

After I read all the assigned readings, I have learned that critical thinking is a tool that I use every day. I had to take some time to understand the concepts and meanings to critical thinking. I am trying to think of how I used critical thinking in my courses or through experiences. The best example that I think of is when I was trying to teach one of my friends how to make a pony beaded creation. I took baby steps and visually showed her the process to make that particular pattern.…

I heard somewhere that thinking about thinking is a sign of higher intelligence. But just thinking alone never gets done these days, much less thinking about thinking. Of course, we think about what we are going to wear to that special event, we think about all the work that we need to get done before tomorrow, we think about that really cool gadget that we saw at the store yesterday, and my personal favorite, we think about what we are going to eat later today. But is this the kind of thinking that is linked with higher intelligence? No, because then people like me would be titled as geniuses which would not be true, because we do not think critically and therefore we believe know everything when, in fact, we truly do not understand anything.…
