Critical Thinking Assignment Analysis

Decent Essays
Looking back at our first critical thinking assignment a lot has changed. I currently do not want to pursue the major I wrote about before. To be completely honest, I have no clue what path I want to take next. I am leaning toward Elementary Education. Sociology has really opened my mind and eyes up on what truly goes on around the world and has given me a new perspective on how to look at the world. I was able to learn a lot about education. Some things I learned were the hidden curriculum, what it teaches and how important of a socialization role it is. Learning about how a lot of schools are treated unequal based upon their location really hit my heart. I hope when I become an educator I can provide my students with as much supplies, love

The sciences have been central to my life ever since I was a child. My mother is a veterinarian and my father a mechanical engineer. Both of my parents attended Tuskegee University and always pushed for me to consider HBCU’s for my education. STEM careers and education are promoted heavily in Huntsville, my hometown, as major tech companies and government entities such as NASA and Missile Defense are located there. I ventured out my senior year and took courses dealing with social sciences, both in my high school and at a nearby university.…

    1. For some doing wrong is a sense of pleasure, rather than doing the right thing. Some people find life better to do others wrong rather than being a victim of someone who has done them wrong. Glucson makes things clear when he states that “those who practice justice do so involuntarily and because they have not the power to be unjust will best appear if we imagine something of this kind”. In other words, to my understanding he is making it clear that those who practice justice have come to an agreement for those who do things justice vs others who do wrong-doings.…

Understanding the problem is one of the basics integral to critical thinking. This is because critical thinking focuses on developing solutions to a problem, which implies that it must begin with understanding the problem. Understanding the problem involves highlighting their nature, context and complexity, which influences decisions on the level of one’s control over a specific problem (Elder & Paul, 2012). Defining the purpose of addressing a problem is also an important element of critical thinking. It helps in coming up with the desired outcomes of a critical thinking process, which limits the influence of other forces such as bias (Milford, 2015).…
