When it comes to critical thinking, as public safety officers, our number one priority is to do what is in the best interest of the public. Further, always put the communities interest first, even above the personal interest of the first responder. Moreover, when confronted with a critical decision take a minute to contemplate some basic questions, what is the best or worst-case scenario, is there more information, see if there is a counter-argument, and does this argument make the situation better or worse? How will society gain from this decision?

By never taking on actions that give the appearance that
