The final product the group has produced the animatic and has met the brief requirement. This project purpose is to attract kids around 3 - 7 years old and it can also be educational. We did meet the brief requirement such as keeping the theme like cute and going for an adventure.

- Did the final product engage the intended audience?
The final product should be able to attract the audience because the primary purpose for Lambie’s big adventure is to target kids around 3-5 years old. In the project, we have included Lambie going to the farm and diving underwater. How the group design the animatic and the chose of music are the right style for children. My personal role heading into the production of “Kernel of Lies” was essentially to handle all the post-production as well as some voice-acting. This involved several steps from bringing the script, storyboard and VO assets together, modifying the animatic’s timing based on feedback, re-recording some of the VO and sending it to the animators before editing all the material afterwards. I spent some time speaking with the animators about what was achievable in post-production and the best ways to reach an ideal result, with the next step being to receive the source files, colour grade them, run the graded clips through further effects, adjusting the timing and then re-synchronising with the animatic. I’d ideally like to extend the final result…

Critical Appraisal of a Research Article This essay contains my critical appraisal of a quantitative research paper by Kennedy, Curtis and Waters, (2014). I will critique the research paper using an appraisal guide adapted from Ingham-Broomfield (2008) and Solutions for Public Health (2010). I will work through the article in a systematic way, beginning with the title and going right through to the conclusion. Critiquing an article in this way helps enable one to weigh up the strengths and weaknesses of the research and make balanced judgments about the quality and usefulness of it (Moule & Hek, 2011).…

The main criteria for assessing the quality of the articles must be modified to be specific to the investigation that is according to the research question. For this report, an adapted Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) was used. Critical appraisal is when the researcher systematically examines the research evidence to evaluate its validity, results, and relevance before using it to come to a conclusion (Hill & Spittlehouse, 2003). Criteria include the need to conduct research ethically, the deliberation of relevance to inform practice or policy, the use of appropriate and rigorous approaches and the clarity and coherence of reporting (Cohen & Crabtree, 2008). Other measures are challenged, such as the importance of addressing reliability,…

Since the early 1900s’, cartoons have played a pivotal role in raising children within a society. They teach young people how their world functions, what is looked down upon and what actions are rewarded. Although children never notice these subtle behavioral hints, they are affected by them nonetheless. In her book Good Girls and Wicked Witches, Amy M. Davis says, “film [is] a cultural mirror” (17). Of all the different categories of film, animation is the best when it comes to reflecting a society’s way of life.…

Before I came to Kisling Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (NCOA), I thought of myself as a good leader with certain traits and aspects. I believe that if I take care of my airmen, that they’ll take care of me by completing work orders, squadron objectives, or any future events without question. It wasn’t until I attended NCOA, that I was able to put concept names to the leadership traits that I had. For example, I would put aside my self-interest for the good of the work center because I wanted my guys to know that I have their best interest at heart. Which turns out to be part of transformational leader idealized influence.…

Literacy Prop Box A prop box is a box full of age-appropriate props that pertain to a specific story. They help the children learn more about the story through play. Hayao Miyazaki is considered as one of the greatest animated filmmaker of his time. Studio Ghibli’s works are a breakthrough in modern animation, bringing both reality and fantasy together in a whole other level and give the audience something that they can keep with them long after they have seen the films. It’s more than a moral to the story, and more than a lesson that we must learn from the protagonist’s adventure(s). Miyazaki’s movies are not black and white, but actually rather more blended, his films are more ‘gray’, if we have to put it into words.…
