1. Reflection/Differentiation
1. When completing other practicum experiences at university I realised there is so much information to be absorbed from the classroom experience. I realised the importance of documenting throughout the practicum experience drawing special attention to key strategies or methods which may be beneficial to me in the future. Research suggests that reflective methods such as journaling, role modelling, use of questions, and critical incidents help individuals develop skills in reflection and enhance the learning process (Brookfield, 1990). I entered my community engagement practicum with an understanding that a classroom is made of diverse students. While completing my community engagement I came to appreciate the vast amount of diversity in the classroom and how it shapes the learning outcome for the students. The teacher demonstrated how to teach a lesson which catered to all students but differentiating aspects of the lessons to be beneficial experience.

By the teacher raising the issue of equality in the classroom it made the students feel that they all students have something valuable to contribute to the classroom community (Giangreco & Doyle, 2000, p.56). It made students feel that they are integral part of the class that places a strong emphasis on care and respect for all. Students were encouraged to express their intellectual and emotional concerns at the start of the day as a way of clearing the air to achieve complete focus on their learning that
