Generally, “viewing” is not given too much attention in the classroom. Therefore, students and adults spend most of their time on viewing. Teaching fundamentals of critical viewing to students is important since the “viewing” is one of the component of critical literacy.
Films are strong educational tools. Rather than just letting students to simply watch a movie after reading the literary work, teachers should assist them analyze and reflect on aspects of the visual text, the content and context of the film.
