Critical Care Nurse
I am interested in pursuing a career in nursing, specifically a critical care nurse. CCU nurses do a number of things daily, from assessing a patient’s condition to planning the best way to implement care on that individual. They treat wounds, give advanced life support, and assist physicians. They administer medications and order diagnostic tests. They must act as a patient advocate, and also work well with others, while comforting patients and keeping their families up to date. A critical care nurse must be a Registered Nurse, but most employers prefer BSN’s (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) degrees.
