The main criteria for assessing the quality of the articles must be modified to be specific to the investigation that is according to the research question. For this report, an adapted Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) was used. Critical appraisal is when the researcher systematically examines the research evidence to evaluate its validity, results, and relevance before using it to come to a conclusion (Hill & Spittlehouse, 2003). Criteria include the need to conduct research ethically, the deliberation of relevance to inform practice or policy, the use of appropriate and rigorous approaches and the clarity and coherence of reporting (Cohen & Crabtree, 2008).
