The short story “The Masque of the Red Death” was written by Edgar Allan Poe in 1842. Poe wrote this story mainly to entertain and to make money. In the story most of the elements that are shone thought the almost apocalyptic disease known as the “Red Death” and the Prince not caring could be shone as if the president was not caring about the fact the a lot of his people where dying over something that he could try to contain. The apocalyptic setting of the story with dead just outside of the wall while there safe in there castle like building could be like the little encampments of people trying to expand the land of America. In the story there party is ruined when a man bathed in blood red clothing and blood spattered clothing shows up he is compared to almost ghostly enter the party without anyone noticing during this time people where still very scarred of so called “Red” men living in the woods this could be a reference to the Native American threat they faced in day to day …show more content…
One of the many is Symbols in the story things are often symbolized to reference something well known during the author’s time. A symbol often used in the story is the seven rooms made of different colors and twist and turns is a symbol of the path of life colors representing the areas of life from baby, child, teen, adult, elderly, and then finally death. This is very import to the story due to the fact that Prince is going through his whole life which he goes through as he follow the masked man. An allegory for this story is how most human beings face the fact that there mortality is in question. Meaning there reaction to knowing they will soon die. This is shone through the fact that in an attempt to use there material position to get away for their inevitable doom (“The
