My Reflection On My Planned Parenthood Education

Honestly, at the start of the semester I didn’t think I could write a 9 plus page scholarly article. Or, rather, I thought I could turn an essay in that made little impact on me but got me a decent grade. Looking back, however, I think I’ve produced a good paper. When I started, my main goal was to learn more about an organization I was curious about. To me, Planned Parenthood has been on organization unfairly attacked and I wanted to learn more about how their organization itself felt about these claims of illegal abortions and use of fetal tissue. You hear a lot about the bigots’ opinions on the matter but you rarely hear from the organization itself. I think I learned a lot about an organization I am interested as well as my writing.

I think that I did find some interesting articles that corresponded with my research but I could have done better with weaving them together. At times it felt like simply one statement after another with a simple connection. For my next research paper, I hope to be able to find more secondary research and better the flow between them. I think I did a fair job of carrying on and connecting my primary and secondary sources but it could have been stronger. I talked about my research about framing and connected it to what I found but other than that the conversation fell flat. I’m still unsure as to how to improve that. I could not find many connections but that was probably because I did not do my own research well enough.
I believe that my argument was persuasive and interesting. In my proposal and the start of my focused data analysis I showed the audience why they should care about Planned Parenthood. I gave examples and statistics of services provided by Planned Parenthood and use that to convince the audience that Planned Parenthood is important and interesting to examine. From what I understand, it seems to mean the language connection between my own writing and the writing I found on my community. If that is the case, I think that I had a basic understanding of the lexis used in my community but I did not use it to its full potential. For my next research project, I think that I should more fully immerse myself into what I am researching in order to better understand my research and present a stronger
