In her essay ‘a Wife’ is portrayed more as a servant to her husband than a married woman considered in relation with her spouse. By exaggeration her point through repetition she makes clear that she wants to change things around. Due to the imagery and her playing in on the emotions of females and especially wives makes the essay very recognizable for her female audience. Together with her credibility, it makes for a successful essay. She wants women to stand up for themselves and for men to become aware of their demand for these numerous qualities and most of all show appreciation.
