If these sections are missing, what could the results be if a true crisis were to occur? Yes, the Springfield School Sample Plan does include all the areas (but doesn’t focus on prevention or preparation). They are well defined but they are not every clear with details. It was very detail on what everyone must do in case of an emergency but as far as prevention and preparation it was not clear. The plan doesn’t really mention how they will prepare or train, but instead focuses on who has what role and what they are expected to do, there is also a very specific breakdown of the plan. The Springfield school system uses The National Incident Management System (NIMS) it’s a set of principles that provides a systematic, proactive approach guiding government agencies at all levels, nongovernmental organizations, to work seamlessly to prevent, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate the effects of incidents, regardless of cause, size, location, or complexity, in order to reduce the loss of life or property and harm to the environment.
How the program will be monitored for effectiveness and to determine if change is needed
There is no monitoring for effectiveness in the Springfield School Emergency Operations Plan. There is extensive and detailed task to be done in case of over 10 different kinds of emergencies.
