Crisis Management Case Studies

Client is a 28 years old African American woman who presents with panic attacks, anxiety, stress, anger, mood swings and poor attention span. Client has been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and has been prescribed Prozac for symptom management. Client recently delivered her fourth child on September 26th 2015. Four days prior to delivery she experienced a panic attack. Additionally, on the day of delivery, the client became overly anxious and experienced her second panic attack; she was prescribed Prozac prior to discharge. Client is able to recognize that her symptoms have elevated and understands that medication has been prescribed to assist with symptom management. Client is hesitant to take medication due to fear of altering her mood even more. The client reports her most recent panic attack was yesterday as she felt overwhelmed with worries, experienced shortness of breath, felt on edge with a racing heartbeat. Client presents with a history of trauma and often have overwhelming feelings of her memories; she blames self for her traumatic experiences. …show more content…
