Jamila informed writer that her nine year old son was hit by a car and is in the hospital. She is worried because she has to find child care for her daughter while her son is in the hospital. Jamila is also concern about providing after care treatment for her son once he is discharged from the hospital. She fears losing her job as a teacher's aide is another concern. Jamila is very upset and overwhelmed. Jamila has communicated to writer her issues and concerns. Writer will discussed with Jamila about her goals and outcomes and how the goals are going to be met. The plan should involve what needs to be done and by whom. Also the plan should include the target date or expected time the goals are to be achieved. Writer would assist Jamila in determining what issues are the most important and need immediate attention. Jamila's son is in the hospital and the most imminent issue is to find childcare for her daughter. Writer would help to locate resources in the community that would be able to provide childcare. Next , writer will help Jamila in making sure she contacts her employer to ensure her job is secure. Also, Jamilia would need to contact the human resources department at her job to see if she qualifies for Family Medical Leave program or other programs while she is out of work.
