From a religious perspective, sex is sacred and should be only shared with a person’s husband/wife. The only purpose for sex is to create a human being; enjoying sex leads to three major problems: unwanted children that are neglected and abandoned, friction between the husband and the wife, and the husband’s attraction to the “other women” (Lee). The United States is predominantly Christianity, so an abundance of them agree with the illegalization of prostitution. Other opposing views have a slightly different view.
Many individuals believe no one has a desire to become a prostitute; prostitutes are terrorized into doing so. In belief, no human being will ever want to further their career as a future sex worker. The law is a hypocrite within itself; it permits individuals the right to be filmed while engaging in sexual activity and placed on the internet for others to observe. Pornography is more degrading than prostitution, yet it is considered legally acceptable. People are granted the right to strip in front of an audience of sexually aroused individuals, while money and sexual profanity is thrown at them. Strip Clubs are more degrading than prostitution, yet it is considered legally acceptable. There is no right given to those who have sexual intercourse with others for a price (which is usually performed privately). However: prostitution is LESS degrading than the two, yet it is NOT considered legally acceptable. The law insists insist that prostitution is a moral wrong, disregarding that it charters the legalization of pornography and strip clubs. Sex work like the other two professions, allow men/women to survive in the real world. They can afford clothes on their backs, food on their table and a shelter over their heads. The law is not the only hypocrite, society is one too. It condones celebrities to exploit their sexuality in order to receive fame and money.
