During my final year in high school, I spent my days researching universities, planning to enroll in a prestigious law school in the United States of America. I had decent support from my parents and they helped me decipher my path and passion in the field of law.

Many of the interviews describe the lawyer’s experience with law as challenging, especially regarding the slow pace at which the legal system works. However, the majority of the responses continued to articulate an appreciation for and belief in the law as a tool for social change and cause lawyering. The interviews show that although the law can be an especially difficult tool for change, that does not diminish its…

Criminal Justice is a social science where people study crimes, criminals, and the criminal justice system, as well as attempt to identify and explain criminal behaviors. Majoring in criminal justice requires you to take classes such as psychology, sociology, political science, philosophy, and forensic science. Although I am not a huge fan of science, forensic science sounds interesting and reminds me of what the characters on CSI: Miami do, which makes this requirement more appealing to me. At Southwestern College, the classes that you are required to take if you are majoring in Criminal Justice are Introduction to Administration of Justice, Concepts of Criminal Law, Juvenile Law and Procedures, Legal Aspects of Evidence, a few sociology and…
