It has always been a dream of mine to pursue a career within the Department of criminal justice since I was a young girl. My father’s tragic death played a significant role that inspired me to pursue both an education and career in the Criminal Justice field to always help the community become a better place and seek justice for all. My first career goal was to become a Forensic Scientist. I had a passion for examining and studying beyond what is in reach. My freshmen year at Long Island University, Biology was my intended major. I also had to complete Criminal Justice Internship; it was apart of my degree requirement. I interned with EAC Brooklyn TASC Program, it’s an alternative incarceration program for individuals that have misdemeanors/felons. My duties involved, assisting in acting as a liaison to the court, monitoring toxicology screenings, and conducting assessment interview, which gave me a chance to interact with each client. I also had the opportunity to have an Intern/Volunteer position with NYC Department of Probation. I had the honor of shadowing probation officer while they interviewed offenders and assist in monitoring reception desk for the purpose of signing in
