The ultimate goal is to do what is right and morally sound as law enforcement officers. Many times officers forget what the badge that they wear upon their chest represents; it stands for honor and integrity. As law enforcement professionals we have chosen a way of life, most hold themselves to a much higher standard than those that they serve (Leland, 2010). That word “serve” many seem to forget that we serve others, the creed that my agency goes by, came from our former Governor Henry Horton, “you go not as Lords but as servants of the people” (Tennessee Highway Patrol, 2005, p. 11).
