Introduction:
It was a hot summer morning in 2012. A 911 operator received a call at 9:45 am from a man. He reports being worried about his next door neighbor, a 38 year old hispanic woman named Anna Garcia. He informs the police that the last time he had spoken to Anna was the previous morning at around 6:30 am. He reports seeing her wear a sweater when they were experiencing a heat wave that day. Anna's dog has been barking uncontrollably. The police and the EMT arrived at Anna's house at 9:56 am. When they entered her house they found Anna lying face down in the entry hallway. The EMT determined that Anna’s time of death was around 7:00 am but they are unsure of what caused her death. There's 4 persons of interest in this case: Alex …show more content…

Blood Type:
The blood found in the crime scene either belongs to Anna or Alex. The blood at the scene is type B and both Anna and Alex's blood is type B as well. We found out the blood type by running an experiment with each person of interest. If clumping occurs while adding Anti-A serum the blood is type A and if it clumped with Anti-B serum the blood is type B. If clumping occurred with both serums the blood is type AB.
Shoeprint:
The shoeprint found at the crime scene belongs to Anna because Anna's shoe has the same pattern and shape. The shoeprint from the scene has a ziq zaq pattern with three circles in the center. DNA Analysis:
The DNA from the crime scene belongs to Anna because it has the same results after using the restriction enzymes for each persons of interests DNA. A restriction enzyme is a special tool that can be used to cut DNA at specific locations. It is used to compare paternity, evolutionary relationships, medical diagnostics etc.
Conclusion: After looking at fingerprints, hair samples etc. and examining the crime scene I believe that Anna's death was a homicide. I believe Alex killed Anna when he last saw her which was the day before her death. He was the last one to see her and the fingerprints found on the table belong to him which means he might have hit her in the head with the table and made it seem as if Anna's death was an accident.
