Many people around the globe play cricket. Other people believe that cricket is not an international sport and that it is a hidden sport and therefore should not be a sport in the Olympics. Yet none of these things are true! Cricket should be a sport in the Olympics. A few reasons cricket should be in the Olympics is popular, internationally played, and will reduce cricket tournaments.

Firstly, cricket is so popular that it is the second most popular sport internationally having from 2.5 to 3 billion, just after soccer. This is a big reason because money is a big reason for sports in the Olympics because if nobody comes to watch the sport they’ll not be able to get back the money it took to build the stadiums, workers, and other costs. The 1920s were a time that the Olympics really became an event for the entire world. According to John Horne in Understanding the Olympics, “after Athens 1896 the next three Olympics were mostly for trade fairs but it was not until the 1920s that the profile of the events began to grow” (Horne).
