Crescent Trail Narrative

As I stepped onto the Crescent Trail I was blasted by vibrant colors. There were leaves and trees and animals. The sun shimmered between the trees and brightened the woods. I saw lots of brown, green, orange and shiny gold. Nick Rory, my mom and I headed deeper into the woods as civilization disappeared behind us. It was a perfect day, sixty-five degrees and sunny. While we walked I listened to the crackling of sticks and leaves beneath our feet. We walked through the woods for fifteen minutes and then finally made it to a field. You could see everything from there. We could see farms and houses and even the city! We moved on and trudged through more woods until we got to an apple tree. We all threw bad apples at the tree and tried to make …show more content…
We decided to move along and got to a sign that warned us about possible hunters in the area. Rory, Nick and I being the crazy kids we are decide to go off the trail. Right when we stepped off the trail we saw some hunters, then Rory said, “Oh my gosh there hunters down there.” After Rory said that the hunters noticed us and looked at us. Nick and I froze and Rory started flailing his arms saying, “Wooooww, they have guuunnns, were gonna get shot.” We ran back to the trail and continued our walk. The most exciting part of the walk was when we got to a second field. That might not sound exciting but it was because it wasn’t just a field. Off of the trail along the field, there was a glass house in the woods that never got finished. It was huge, we wanted to go to it but we couldn’t because there were hunters on the land and it was private property. It had two big rooms on the bottom and a garage-like opening in between them. On the second floor the walls were all glass, but they had been broken by someone. That was all we could see from where we were. I looked up the house on the internet and found that the address was 333 thayer road. The house was built in 2005 but was never finished. We decided to start heading back after we saw the house. when we got back to the car we drove to 333 thayer road and found the driveway. The driveway was blocked off and had a “Private Property” sign on

The trees towered over me and made a canopy of leaves with their branches. The further I walked into the forest the more enchanting it became. The neighborhood was noiseless, and the sky was pitch black, for there had been no moon on that summer morning in June. My mother and father started our car and waited for Sofia,my sister, sean ,my friend, and me to get inside. It was time to leave our dull suburban home in San Jose, and drive to the beloved National Park, Yosemite, to hike Half Dome. On the car ride there I had slept, but awoke right when we had gotten into the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Looking outside of the window and noticing all of the evergreen trees was surreal for me, as I rolled down my window a strong smell of pine and fresh air poured into the car.…

I once went on a hike on the Appalachian Trail with my mother. We set off and it started to rain on the first day, and my mom began to complain. By the end of the day, I wanted to jump off the mountain before I pushed her off it. Suffice to say, we were not well-suited hiking partners, due to our different processes; my mother dealt with her grievances by talking about the cold. On the other hand, I was just as miserable, but I attempted to ignore the dismal weather.…

The ray of light from the flashlight casts a luminescent glow on the ground, allowing us to keep a watchful eye on where we are stepping. As we walk, I feel the crunch of breaking thin ice, and the stickiness of the mud under my feet. I smell the crisp, clean aroma of the morning air. We weave our way through the woods trying to avoid puddles of unfrozen water, and logs that are in the way of the trails we have made. Finally, I spot the…
