Creon:
Creon’s excessive pride takes over his sense of rational thinking which eventually leads to his demise. (Creon’s hamartia)
• Creon refuses to believe that there is a possibility he could be wrong about Antigone. Teiresias prophecy reveals that Creon is doomed unless he fixes his wrong-doings (set Antigone free and follow Divine Law). “Think: all men make mistakes, but a good man yields when he knows his course is wrong, and repairs the evil. The only crime is pride.”- Teiresias. In the end, Creon’s mistakes were brought to life because of his excessive pride.
• After Antigone’s, Haimon’s, and (Creon’s wife’s) deaths, Creon has an epiphany where he recognizes his rash and prideful mistakes. o Describe their deaths individually,
