Bell ringing gave me the opportunity to help the movement of the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army’s mission is to feed, clothe, comfort, and care for people in need. Their work is funded through bell ringing, corporate contributions, and the profit of goods donated. For the last two years I have volunteered to bell ring at Walmart to help the Salvation Army raise money for their programs so they can continue to aid people everywhere. I am very dedicated to the sport of volleyball. I played all four years of high school and trained intensively all four years. Every year during the summer we run a youth volleyball camp. The high school players can volunteer to be camp counselors. I volunteered all four years because I love working with children and wanted to teach them volleyball fundamentals. For the last two years I have interned in the elementary. My junior year I was with kindergartners and my senior year I am with second graders. With the kindergartner class, I helped teach numbers and letters. With the second grade class, I help teach math facts, spelling words, and reading. Watching the students transform throughout the school year is incredible and knowing I was apart of that is fulfilling. The philosophy of “people helping people” is something I want to continue to do in the future and becoming a teacher is how I can achieve that
