Creator Mindset Research Paper

There is no doubt, that to be a successful entity in today’s age, you must be educated. We spend our early years dragging our feet through high school, only to be pushed out to the other side where the question of college appears. For those who choose this path, whether it was immediately after college or a few years down the road, they find themselves adapting and changing who they are for their education. Students from all backgrounds including those who have families to support, and students who do not have support from their parents, walk into the dark abyss of education not knowing what they will receive on the other side. How we reflect upon and process ideas and situations, is put to the test and we see two distinct mindsets emerge from fellow students. Just like a Victim’s mindset push you towards giving up, and ultimately contributing to the tremendous dropout rate we see today, it is their choice. “Between stimulus and response, we can choose a Victim mindset or Creator mindset,” (p.47) declares Skip Downing. By seeking solutions and not blaming other for our faults, students can grow past the adolescent stage that is typical for first year students whether they are nineteen or forty-seven. Age has no bounds and neither does having a family to support or kids to raise, students who are successful Creators, push past these obstacles and see them as victories and challenges. The 75% drop out rate is not due to how much money you have or how many kids you have to support, it is a result of Victim students who cannot see past their own ignorance and lack of knowledge to swallow their pride and take responsibility for their actions. If a student wants to succeed and earn a college degree all they have to do is try, do their best, and finish what they started with a Creator
