“Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world,” Nelson Mandela. School prepares students for the past, but not the future or the present. Powerful, school maybe, if not put accordingly, is useless in the eyes of the unpredicting future. Having to part take in an strictly organized practice, it limits creativity to be openly expressed to fit one's learning styles. For a long time the educational system seems unchanged as many other assists have greatly improved. As I am a student myself. Sometimes I ponder why we learn specific subjects that seem highly unrelevant to everyday life. Many practices in an orderly fashion, this remained the same since the Industrial Revolution. During that time, people believed that the safest way to support themselves to work in factories. Therefore, fast-forwarding to now, students are taught how to think and answer. In turn, causes dependency on another, to give them the sufficient answer. This dependency is categorized as a fixed-mindset thinking. Hence, when working after graduation, students will require orders and not the ability to act responsibly by themselves. Though a survey from 2005, National Association of Manufacturers stated “Survey after survey, employers express disappointment in the skills of high school graduates. For example, in 2005, 60 percent of U.S. manufacturing companies surveyed said that high school graduates were poorly prepared for entry-level jobs”. This means that what school is teaching to students is not preparing students for the future of workplace ethics, but for an expectation created by the ethic of the past. Carrying out in a fixed fashion will encourage students to rely on others for decision making and problems. The effects of which are stubbornness to keep trying when they face failure. Though, most problems in a life after education requires life skills like: how you to have acquired the necessary knowledge via taxes, rights, and other obstacles that may occur. Linked to that statement, schools rarely take part in providing vital information on these forms of life skills. Therefore, many are lacking in taking care of themselves when left on their own. Additionally, personal habits reflects on one's work ethic. For example, if a graduate lacks in self-discipline and experience, then, it shows to potential employers that the graduate wouldn't be efficient in doing their assigned task. Subsequently, it is becoming common that employers look for employees that have sufficient experience in the area of work. Throughout,it remains a problem if students carry more knowledge than an experience at hand. As more students are trained academically, the more decrease of jobs will occur. Even if higher education attainment will more likely achieve prestigious occupations, skills and experience play a larger role in getting the task done properly. Lastly, school plays an important role to prepare student for life after graduation, if that the student feels confident; they could manage themselves with the necessary experiences and
