When I was seven, my family and I entered the enchanted forest known as Yosemite for a campout. It seemed as trees decided to invade the barren Earth. As I stepped out of the car, the smell of sticky, brown sap running down a maple tree smashed my face like an arrow pinning its target to a barrier.
