Creative Writing: Why Are Us Alive?

Holding on firmly to the straps of my backpack as I walked with my head lowered through a crowd of cruel teenagers. Whose joy in life was torturing and taunting people for the heck of it. While staring at me, they shouted things while laughing with their friends.

"Why are you alive?"

"You're so ugly. You should die."

"Ew, your back. Nobody likes you."

"Don't come near me! I don't want STD's!"

The voices disappeared and, the bullies blurred as the back of my eyes pricked with tears, forcing myself to hold them in. As I reached my locker, I shoved textbooks and books into my bag. Abruptly, my head yanked back, letting out a cry of pain I fell.

"Welcome back to hell, bitch."

Mia, my arch nemesis since the first step I took in high school. Why? I wish I knew, but, that would stay a mystery until the end of time.

John Kim, the quietest and the hottest guy in our school, advised me. John wasn't famous or anything, just well known, which I guess is famous. He was known solely for his photography and dancing abilities. However, I knew him for a different reason, and I wish I didn't. Shrugging off the strange encounter, I walked into the nurse's office and hid there for all of first period.

Five minutes before the bell rang, I walked into English class and headed straight for my seat. Which was in the darkest corner of the room, away from everybody and that was fine by me. As the bell rang, the hallways filled with loud and rowdy students. Kids walked into class and ignored me. As the class filled up, Mr. Carter walked in and got straight to taking attendance, halfway through attendance walked in John Kim.

Surprised, I stared at John as he apologized for being late and then sat in the open seat next to me. Class continued with no more disturbances, and the whole time John did nothing other than staring at me. Confused as to why I put my head down and soon fell
