Unegadihi lay upon a bed of straw; he had come to the Cave of the Spirits Song- where the, "Adonvdo, Nvyu, daganogeda", Spirit Stone sings. He had come there to die. When he saw Charity, he smiled weakly.
“Ga ga na?” he mumbled, asking who was there.
“I am here,” she whispered.
“I knew you would find me. The Nvnehidihi has been lying, whispering to me that you would not come to guide me home.”
As Charity looked upon his now frail body, which had once been so large and strong, hot tears stung her eyes.
“Do not cry for me, Sahani Dikata. I will walk the winds of the Great Spirit,” he said. “I will go home to my people, my homeland. Return to the innocence of childhood, where my father now awaits me.”

The tears she had held back flowed softly down her cheeks...

Some while later, she awoke. Cynthia’s warm breath on her breast and Mary snuggled tightly against her back, caused her to feel sated. Suddenly, she had grown tired of roaming, moving from place to place. This spot, felt like home… When they left the Carolinas, she had followed Henry‘s dream of moving to Alabama. Now that they were there, it was her time to fill a void. She loved this spot beneath the falls; and what a beautiful spot it was… It was the perfect place to build a home for her family.
She wanted to stay there; Henry could build them a cabin. It didn’t have to be fancy or very large as long as it had a porch like the houses in town, where she could sit with her coffee and look out upon such a beautiful sight each morning… maybe even a window near the bed where she could see the falls as soon as she woke. At 5:30 AM, the young, naive, Jenny Drpich is all dressed up finally ready to leave her home and head to her job for the first time. On her way, she grabbed a copy of West Australian newspaper, a leftover of cinnamon bun from last night and a freshly brewed cup of Long Black Arabica. The placidness of her home is unwieldy; the constant sound of the dead air seems remind her of pure elation of her little farmhouse in upper Swan Valley. These reminiscing values seem to ponder in her mind as she heads out of the driveway. It was a heinous drive from her house to the suburb.…

Knowing that something special was going to happen that day, because she could feel it deep inside her soul, Charity sprung out of bed. Her grandpa had always said that she had the “gift of knowing,” the same as her grandmother, Mi 'thebe, had. Mi’ thebe was a Cherokee name that in English meant Shadowy Moon. As she stepped outside the old, log cabin she took a deep breath of the cool, fresh mountain air and then stretched her back, leaning from side to side to remove the stiffness she felt from sleeping in her not so comfortable bed, which consisted of a straw-ticked mattress atop a wooden bunk that seemed to became flatter each year as she grew older. Her grandfather had built the cabin some fifty-odd years earlier as a wedding gift for…

A series of small waves pressed the sail boat against the alge dock as his cold and cracked hands desperately yanked on the rope in an effort to raise the sails. Dark clouds had moved in the night before and had stayed overnight providing a refreshing sprinkle of rain every now and then. He looked out over the vast plain of unsettled water and saw one individual white cap rise up among the rest only to be pushed back down. Due to the lack of sunlight the frigid water appeared black and lifeless but he knew that below it was a complex community of different species. He then bent over the side of the boat and reached for its securing ropes.…
