He got up from his corner and helped patch up the troops. For most of them, there was nothing he could do. The only person that could help them was the Recovery Unit. “Okay, everybody.” Howard commanded, “Get on the truck, we can treat you there and hurry home.”. Ash started helping the injured troops onto the trucks and let the Recovery unit do their thing. Once everyone was on board, he hopped on and the truck started moving. He sat down near the front and looked back at the wounded soldiers. His heart was heavy, wondering what their families and friends were gonna think when they got back home. All of a sudden, there was an explosion that was near the truck. Ash looked behind them only to see 3 jeeps gaining on them with automatic guns. …show more content…
Howard paused for a reaction from the crew members. Everyone started disagreeing and arguing about how that was wrong and inhumane. “Now, I understand that you all think that it’s cruel and barbaric, but it might be our only chance at survival.” Howard argued, “I’m not sure if you guys have noticed, but out there are 3 deadly jeeps trying to murder us. These soldiers here are willing to give up their lives so we can live; can you soldiers accept their dying wish?”. Everyone was quiet now. The only sound heard was the roaring engine of the car. The troop members started strapping bombs to the bodies of the soldiers. The soldiers talked to the troop members while they got strapped with bombs. Telling them their last goodbyes, asking them to break the news to their families. Ash looked out the window to see how close the jeeps were on their tail. It was close but far enough for them to continue to …show more content…
The first wave of soldiers was dropped off. The truck quickly sped away to try to get away from the soldiers as soon as possible. People were fighting their tears as they heard the explosion in the distance. Ash looked back to see if the jeeps were still pursuing them. He saw 2 more left. Howard decided to not drop any more bodies for the time being in hopes that they surrender and he wouldn’t have to lose more soldiers. After 30 minutes, the jeep kept gaining on them. Howard gave the order for the second wave of soldiers to be dropped off. Everytime Howard gave the order, it looked like he was about to puke or pass out. The second wave of soldiers went off. Ash looked to the back of the truck, hoping that no more jeeps were out there. He was relieved to see only the night sky and the trees waving in the wind. He laid his head to rest, to try to unsee the horrors of his first

The Thrill in the Kill…….And What it Does After Elham I. 8-1 I’m a deadbeat. There is no way to sugarcoat it (and frankly, I don’t want to). Being as profound and logical as I am, I decided to do something aside from my part-job at a convenience store: rob a bank. I probably would have gotten myself killed, but hey, no more having to reject minors for alcohol, right?…

It was cold and ordinary evening on March 5, 1770, when I was walking down King street with my friend Henry. As were walking past the Custom House a young wig maker's apprentice walked up to a British soldier and insulted him because he had not payed for a wig. Another British soldier had walked out and scolded the young boy for disrespecting a British soldier. The boy exchanged insults with the soldier so he pulled out his musket and struck the boy on the side of the head. A stream of chills rushed through my body when I witnessed that.…

As I stared across the bullet-torn battlefield I wondered how I ended up here; hiding behind a crumbling wall, clutching my gun as though it were a lifeline. How the young kid I'd once been now bore a dirty, camouflage patterned uniform. There I was, contemplating my life in the middle of a battle. I shouldn't have been surprised when a hand suddenly shot out in front of my face and smacked me upside the head. It was so unexpected that I nearly stumbled out from behind the rubble and right into the bullet whizzing by.…

All Quiet on the Western Front Rewrite We were quiet on the ride into the foreign village, taking in the sights that would be ordinary to anyone else. The thought of simply being somewhere far away from the front was conversation enough.
