“The Ship is sinking.” shouted captain John, “we must abandon ship.” “The life boats are ready!” Screamed sergeant Matt. The ship was sinking fast and Steven the young corporal and his brother were running for the lifeboats with the hope they wouldn't die. 2 days earlier
It was 1945 and world war 2 was at the end of its months. Steven and Jake were young teenage brothers just out of high school and they wanted to serve their country for the greater good. They were rushed through training for the need of more U.S troops.Then they were sent to California to be shipped out.
“Where are we going?” Asked the younger brother Jake. “The island of Iwo Jima”

In 11 hours they would arrive at Iwo Jima and go to battle. “I’m scared.” said Jake. “Don't be, it will be fine.” replied Steven
“Report to the mess hall!” They heard over the loudspeaker and they rushed to the mess hall. When they got there the sergeant was standing on a crate with a loudspeaker to his mouth.
“Attention!” Ordered Sergeant Matt, we have just detected an enemy submarine making it’s way towards our ship.” Sergeant Matt screamed, “Everybody get to your battle stations and be ready to launch torpedos on my command!”

Steven and Jake rushed to their battle stations with the fear of the ship being hit by a torpedo in both of their minds. When they got to their battle stations they checked their scanners to see if they could see the sub. And they saw it. Not just one, not two, there were 5 submarines. Steven got on his radio
“Sergeant I am seeing five submarines on the scanner.”
The sergeant replied “Fire!”
They shot their torpedos and they swerved through the water. They watched them as they approached the subs. All of the torpedos went to the first sub and it exploded with an orange red fiery color. They knew the subs were going to fire back. BOOM! That was the sound that they heard as the ship rumbled and shook. Just then Steven heard his radio go off “get to the top deck this ship is going

As they looked to the way of the sound they saw a submarine peeking out of the surface of the water with a machine gun resting on top. Steven had to think fast, so he dove under the water in the direction of the submarine. When he got close enough to touch it he climbed on top and ran at the man behind the machine gun. He tackled the man and pushed him into the water. With the man down he climbed into the submarine and hid behind a door. He saw some people in the cockpit so he ran at them. He took their guns from there hands and pointed them at them. Then he marched them on top of the submarine and pushed them in the water. With all of the enemies out of the submarine he went to the lifeboat to get the soldiers from
