Creative Writing: The Holocaust

It was a dark and gloomy day, dark grey clouds filled the air. It was June 14th, 1944. Julia was in a nasty old cattle car with her baby sister, grandmother and probably 500 to 600 Jews. It was so disgusting and cramped. It reeked of smells unimaginable. The Germans were taking them somewhere and everyone was scared. Little did she know she was traveling to a jewish concentration and extermination camp called Auschwitz. Once they arrived the passengers were lined up and a German Nazi general went down the line, passengers were chosen to go to the left or to the right. The general came to her. He had an evil smirk on his face she looked at his long crooked finger that pointed to the right, she was in a group of strong healthy men and women …show more content…
When she was working by the fence one of the soldiers whispered to her and it was the handsome one from when she arrived “Are you hungry?” he asked. Julia nodded and he passed her a piece of bread she hid it in her underclothing. “Thank you so much” said Julia. He nodded and walked off and Julia got back to work. She finished the day then devoured the bread and went to sleep a few hours later. She drempt of the handsome Nazi. She really liked him even though he's a Nazi she still sees that he is a good man, he isn't cruel to the Jewish people, he talks very nice to them and never harms them and maybe she thought he was forced to join the Nazis. Then she dozed off. The same thing went on for a about a month over and over. She talked to Joe almost every day he gave her food and everything. They talked about their lives before everything happened. Joe is 23 ,he was living with his mother, father and brother at the time, He was forced to join the Nazis ,his home was raided and his father was knocked out they said if he didn't join his father would be killed, Joe did what he had to do. Then one fateful day Julia was talking to Joe and he was tackled by two other soldiers Julia tried to walk off like nothing happened, she was scared all of a sudden the Nazi general came right up to her while she was trying to act like nothing happened the general said in an old raspy voice
“look up”
Julia slowly looked up at him, then she glanced at Joe on the ground
“look at me!” screamed the general
Julia looked up at him again in his raspy old German voice he exclaimed “what have you gotten from this
