Gunshots could be heard throughout the whole area. Everyone looked in the direction of where they heard the shots being fired. In the middle of the dirt road was a man carrying a young boy. The man continued to walk as people began to move out of his way. He never stopped walking until he stood in front of an old abandoned cabin. He opened the front door of the cabin. Then he threw the young boy across the room resulting in the boy being thrown straight into the wall. And with a loud thump, the boy fell to the ground. "You good for nothing twerp! I hope you die and go to hell!" yelled the man. With that, he slammed the door shut. Making the boy flinch both in fear and in pain. Outside the cabin, the man had grabbed a lock from his pocket and attached it to the door. With one last look at the cabin, he turned around and started heading back …show more content…
Two figures opened the doors of the vehicle and slammed their doors shut. Both began to walk forward and approached the cabin.
One of the two figures looked at the metal lock that was attached to the wooden door of the cabin. The person yawned for a second and then with a swipe of their hands the lock broke apart. The person pushed the lock aside and pushed open the door. Moonlight began to lighten the cabin and revealed the boy.
The boy lay there motionless even as the two figures began to approach him. No emotion appeared on the injured boy's face. The only time he seemed to function was when the woman kneeled down beside him and would check his wounds. That was when he would slightly flinch due to the pain that would still linger enough for him to feel. The rest of the time his whole body was numb.

When the woman checked the boy's wounds, she looked over her shoulder to motion for the man to come over. The man nodded back at her and began to make his way over to the two. The woman looked back to the injured boy and heaved a

Jessica Risner Heather Ward English 1101-41 October 5, 2015 “Love You Forever” Literary Analysis One of my favorite stories to read to my daughter is “Love You Forever” by Robert Munsch. The story is about a mother who sneaks into her son’s room, once he is sleeping, and sings a song to him. She sings to him these words “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be (pg. 14).” My favorite part about this story is that once her son is a teenager, and even a grown adult, she still sneaks into his room and sings her song to him.…

The Road: Sympathy in a World that Offers None Cormac McCarthy’s novel The Road is a tale of a father and son’s journey of survival in a post-apocalyptic holocaust world full of marauders and cannibals. The father’s animalistic behavior throughout the novel reflect the intentions of most of the society around them, while the son represents sympathy in a world that has no more to offer. In The Road, whenever the father and son encounter others on their journey the boy shows more sympathy toward them, while his father displays more concern over the survival of them both. As a result, it’s the son who is able to help the man show kindness to others.…

Pablo Picasso: The Tragedy In Picasso’s “The Tragedy,” he used several different techniques to create the visual elements in the painting. The three figures, carefully drawn, and the use of contour lines help shape their bodies and show the deep thought in their faces. The color used in the painting was mainly shades of blue. The beach is a greenish blue, set against the pale blue sea, the sky is a darkened dusky blue, bringing a cold, emptiness to the piece. It is as if you were looking at the painting wearing spectacles with blue colored lenses.…

Particularly in the Road, where all moral and cultural institutions known to humankind have been extinguished, religion and the belief in supernatural beings are at the forefront of the father’s thinking. In a world where humanity and kindness are mostly extinct, it is evident that the father adheres to the thought there might be a God-like figure. Religious and spiritual terms are often used throughout the novel, although the man often doubts the existence of a God and repeatedly curses him: He started down the rough wooden steps. […] Coldness and damp.…
