Her green eyes fluttered open. She pressed her palms firmly on the cold wet ground and propped herself up. She had long red hair that curled at the bottom. Small freckles splattered across her cheeks and nose, it was almost like the stars in the night sky. The surrounding area was unlike something she had ever seen before. It was dark and quiet, the only noises were coming from the night bugs. Her eyes scanned the forest to see if she could make out where she was. Although she appeared calm her heart was erratic, beating at a thousand miles per hour. She got to her feet and wiped away the dead leaves and dirt from her shirt and pants. She wore a dark grey sweater, a pair of tight faded grey jeans, black combat boots that were double knotted …show more content…
She began to back up until her back pressed gently against a large tree. A sharp hoot from an owl caused her to duck and cover her head. She peered up from in between her arms to see the large brown owl staring at her. It had wide yellow eyes that seemed to shine like two large moons*. She couldn’t take her eyes off of the owl’s. It gave her another hoot before flapping its wings and ascending deeper into the forest. She felt this urge to chase the bird, but her legs were frozen in fear. She kept herself in a crouched position until the snapping of twigs stopped. There was another loud sound, similar to the flapping of wings, which caused her to sharply turn into the direction of the sound. Instead of a bird there was a tall dark haired man. His eyes were ice blue and his face was pale. He flashed her a crooked smile which revealed his sharp canines. She fell back into the cold ground and tried to back away from him but her arms were too wobbly to support her …show more content…
She could barely move and she knew better than to rush to the knife. The wolf leaped at her which caused her to fall onto her back. The hard ground knocked the wind from her lungs. She gasped for air as the wolf neared her. Her eyes locked with its. It was almost like the wolf was dancing with her motionless body but never did it try and bite at her. “What do you want?” She asked it. Then there was this sudden overwhelming warmth in the pit of her stomach. She felt this strength rush through her and she stood up. The wolf gave her another devilish smile. The warmth went from her stomach up through her arm and into her fingertips. She watched in disbelief as a bright white light emitted from her fingertips and launched at the wolf. It struck the wolf causing it to cry in pain. Quickly the wolf turned to smoke and rose into the air, letting one last bellowed howl out indicating it had not yet been killed. The darkness began to fade from the forest. She looked at her fingertips and began to touch them. They were warm from whatever had shot from them. Her eyes went back up to the man that had been impaled by the black goo. The spikes melted back into a blood like substance and he fell to his knees. He began to cough as he tried to catch his breath. She ran to his side and helped him to his feet before examining him. There were no wounds on the man, it was as if it had never

Reconciliation Interrupted by the faint sounds of birds chirping and grass swaying in the gentle breeze, the calming silence became a distant memory. As the birds flapped their wings, moving at the edge of the tiny meadow, from one tree to the next, they cast their shadows over the body of a small brown skinned, black haired girl. She lay on her back in the hilltop grass, facing directly up towards the almost blinding light of the afternoon sun. Her dark skin, holding a lively warm glow, reflected the rays of sunlight off of her quickly flickering eyelids. Suddenly, they were open, revealing her dark brown almond shaped eyes and her ever so slightly off white sclera.…
