"Another beautiful hit from number 23! Looks like it's going straight for the outfield!"

Adrenaline pumps through my legs as I round the field, zooming straight for second base. By the time I reached second, the outfielders had reached the ball, and were getting ready to throw it in. I pumped my legs harder, until I was at my full speed. I rounded the corner to third base as the ball was thrown to the infield.

"Folks, hold on to your seats, this is about to be the most intense game in all of high school softball history!" The announcer yells, and a small smile grows on my lips as I round third.

We shake hands with the other team before running back to our dugout.

"So captain, how did it feel to hit the winning homer?" My teammate Arin asks, and I shoot her a wide grin.

"Just about as great as the red velvet cupcake I ate this morning."

"Huh, that amazing?" Arin and I laugh as exited the dugout, only to be greeted by Blake and Kara.

Blake mckenzie was the captain of our baseball team. He was egotistical, and the biggest player known to our small town in Montana. The only pro of Blake was that he was extremely attractive, and that was how every girl became sucked in by the black hold that is Blake McKenzie.

Every girl except for me, that is.

Kara was Blake's Queen B girlfriend, and one of our teammates, but she never showed up to practices. Truth be told, she hated all of us.

"Honestly Harley, I don't see what was so great about that hit. Your stance was horrible." Kara hisses, and I roll my eyes, crossing my arms over my chest.
