Creative Writing: Satellite Imaging Analysis

It was the middle of November and I was sent to Samalut, Egypt to assist Sarah Parcak, Josh, and Noah, where they discovered a peculiar looking human bone buried 10 feet down in the sand. Sarah discovered this site, by using the satellite imaging analysis that helps find buried ruins. The sun was beating on our backs, as we worked long hours, barely getting anywhere close to reaching the item. Around noon, our crew had dug approximately halfway down, when suddenly a colossal sand storm was approaching us at an exceptionally fast rate. In a panic, Josh shouted, “We can’t do anything but run!”
“What do you mean run, where are we going to go?” I questioned, as the storm was getting even closer. For a while, there was no response, we stood there peering at the storm that would soon topple over us.

Without hesitation, I pried open the door, which seemed to be suspicious. Then, I peered into the room, which was in complete darkness. Luckily, I had been smart enough to carry a flashlight with me, so I was able to illuminate the room. Inside, I found a small table that looked to have held a lantern. On the far side of the room, there was a hallway which lead into an empty space. Thinking there had to be another room, I searched for a clue that would help me locate some sort of a secret passage. As I was evaluating the area, I stepped on a mysterious red button. Slowly, right beside me, part of the wall slid outward, leading me to a chamber, that had paintings covering the walls. Hunting dancing, and religious ceremonies were displayed throughout the secretive room. In the corner of the room laid an empty cement tomb. As I opened the tomb I found four canopic jars that contained the pharaoh’s organs, which the Egyptians thought the King would take with him, into the
