Creative Writing: Sacrifice Experiments

Cindy huffed, needlessly brushing herself off as she looked at her rival/friend. “Okay, now what is so important that you had to interrupt my study session with Libby? Because between you and me, she needs the extra help in History… and English. She can never stay focused in them because they’re ‘soooo boring’, in her own words anyway.”
Jimmy managed to restrain laughing at her impression of her best friend, thinking of the reason he needed her in the first place. “Well, I made some modifications on Goddard’s ‘lie detector’ unit, and-”
Immediately she scoffed, crossing her arms. “Who and what do you think I am Nerdtron? Carl? I’m not a lab rat for your stupid experiments!” To confirm how annoyed this seemed to make her, she changed her position

“Good, because-” Cindy quickly realized what he had just said. “-NEUTRON!"
“Okay okay, I was just kidding! Calm down, Cindy,” he assured her, slightly worried she would go into some sort of ‘attack mode’.
Luckily for him, she just huffed in reply.
A good few minutes passed, only Goddard’s panting breaking the silence in the air. Jimmy sighed, and tried to get the subject back on track… There had to be a way. “So… Will you help a fellow genius out here?”
Cindy still had a displeased look on her face. “Well now I’m not so sure because- wait. Did you just call me a ‘fellow genius’?”

She gave him a pointed look. “Neutron I don’t have all day here! You know how packed my mother keeps my

“I know I know… sorry. So, are you willing to help me?”
Cindy shrugged. “Depends. What’s in this for me?”
Ugh. He knew she wasn’t going to resist playing hardball in this situation.
Jimmy sighed. “Okay, I’m going to be blunt about this. I’m desperate to test the modifications out on someone other than myself so… whatever you want.”
Cindy seemed clearly surprised with what he was offering, almost silent for an entire minute. But of course, she began to smirk, no doubt ideas already formulating in her sneaky blond head. “…Will you admit that I’m dominant over you in all of the arts, and that my I.Q. is impressive for someone my age?”
He rolled his eyes, clearly not impressed with her request. “I thought we agreed a long time ago that that’s a fact, Vortex.”
Of course, he wasn’t lying. She had made him sign a contract about it for crying out loud!
She began to speak in a teasing voice. “Oh, well in that case there isn’t anything else I currently desire, so I’d better get my butt across the street!”
“Cindy!” he gave her a frustrated look.
She shrugged innocently. “What? It’s nice to be

Jimmy Romanowski uttered a sigh of disgust at the once-prized Mustang. He bought the ailing jalopy wicked cheap, considering metallic rheumatism ran amok among its mechanical parts.
