Creative Writing: Roberto's Explosion

Roberto had just turned 35 years old and this was his 10th birthday unnoticed. Instead of going out to dinner or having a party like your average American would, he was giving aid to a warring country. He helped fight a group of rebels who had charged into the site inside a stolen cargo ban meant to deliver supplies. When the Rebels had exited the van and opened fire, Roberto ran to cover and pulled out his loaded M4 Carbine. Projectiles kept flying all over the field hitting things like car windows, small businesses, and other things. The sound was deafening and the fight seemed to last an eternity. The Military began to get an upper hand against the rebels until the heard a voice scream “This is our country!” suddenly a loud explosion was …show more content…
Roberto had dedicated his life to the military he had no family, close friends, or even a pet. Roberto flew first class on an airplane to the United Kingdom. Owen brought him to a small bakery where he took him off his wheel chair and put him on a table, “Are you sure you want to do this?” Owen asked to which Roberto responded yes. Owen pushed a secret keypad under the table, and the table began to go downward. Roberto was in utter shock that there was a laboratory hidden under a small bakery in the United Kingdom. The laboratory had gray and white walls that did not seem very sanitary, it was clear the lab was built for efficiency not for living conditions. However, Roberto could see very small rooms with beds that planted the seed for Roberto to believe people lived there. “It’s time for the world to be changed” said Owen as he strapped Roberto onto a chair, he pushed the chair back until it was completely …show more content…
“I can’t, I’m crippled” he responded. Bridget threw him on the floor and shot him in the leg with an M9. Roberto looked at his wound as it healed instantly, “If you can heal a gunshot like that, you can move your legs” She said. Roberto got up and looked at Bridgit, “how?” he asked hesitantly. “You are the only person in this world who has such an advanced regeneration, please don’t waste your gift” she showed him the exit, and he left. Thanks to these people he could be in the military once again, this experience showed him no matter what happens live can get
