Creative Writing: Rainsford's False Bed

Rainsford had decided he had never slept in a better bed. Rainsford awoke with the sun's light shinning in his face. The room was unfamiliar and bed spring poked into his back. He sat up quickly, startled by the change of scenery. General Zaroff's large room had been replced with a small cell. Three concrete walls, a barred wall, and a minscule barred window surrounded him. The canopy bed had been replaced by a worn out mattress on the floor. A bucket and water tap were in the corner across from him. He made quick work of standing to his feet and peering out of the bars. A long hallway was spread in each direction. Another barred room was across the hall, but Rainsfor was unable to look in; the angle was too great. Even thought he was incapable
