Nessa had been so busy running her mouth on the phone, that she was turning the corner on the street where Bam’s apartment was when she noticed his Eldorado sitting out front. She continued on towards the apartments to see what the ruckus was all about. She heard about twenty dudes talking loudly. They were all high and intoxicated. People who planned to attend the funeral were pulling up to get t-shirts of their own.
“Auntie what it do?” Bam shouted from on top of the hill. “I meant to call you and tell you about how we just handled our business.”
“Boy calm down. Everybody business ain’t nobody business.” Nessa scolded, putting a finger up to her mouth. “Shhhh.”
Quay approached Nessa with one of the brawny pitbulls on a leash. It was brindle. “That nigga ain’t got no sense, Auntie. I swear. Come on let’s walk.”

“Sit down, Kush,” he commanded the pit. And it obeyed.
“Darn it’s well trained, I see.”
“He know I don’t play no games.” He gave the dog a rough rub on the back. “But yeah Auntie, I lie to you not, we just went on a rampage. If he ain’t dead all I can say is that man upstairs was wit’ him. I swear we just set it off. We had to let go at least a hunnard rounds.”
Nessa pressed her left hand to her forehead appearing destressed. “Well we wasn’t a hundred percent sure that he had something to do with it. I kinda wish y’all would’ve waited.”
