Creative Writing On Theatre

The Flashing of Lights and Cameras Energy. It flowed through my veins in place of blood; the tingling sensations filling me with a sense of nervousness. After so many years of doing theatre, you would think I would have learned to be calm, but I wasn’t. Far from it, actually. The butterflies in my stomach made me queasy, the waiting made me anxious, and the noises that surrounded me gave me a headache. I wanted the wait to be over; I wanted to get on that stage and just start acting so I could be done with it. Yet, I also didn’t. I didn’t want our play to be over; I wanted to stay on that stage forever. It was the last show of our school’s version of Seussical the Musical. I was a Who, specifically Cindy Lou. The yellow, sparkly tutu was a key factor of my costume, not to mention my hair that was held together by a mass of hair ties in order to keep it standing up. The audience was already waiting for us, some finding their seats in the house while others were buying sweet-smelling desserts in the lobby. I wished I could go out there myself and snatch up a cupcake or two, but, sadly, I knew that was not possible. Nevertheless, I still wished to eat one of those sweets that were lined up neatly on tables with labels that were named after the show and characters. Their frosted colors of blue, red, and pink looked so delicious. I wondered if the frosting tasted the same, if the colors were just dyed to look different, or if the colors were made with some tarty blueberries, sour raspberries, or some other kind of exotic fruit. I could only imagine them dissolving in my mouth and their flavors exploding on my taste buds, the vanilla part of the actual cake adding to the flavorful
