Creative Writing On Daytime

Daytime. The time of day I hate most is here. I never liked being outside the clocktower during daytime. Mainly because I don’t like the way our world looks during the day. Think about it: We almost always have clouds hanging around in the sky, smog is being pumped into the air fir most of the day, and the sun is trying so hard to get through all the mess. It’s not, pretty I’ll tell you that much. An orange-grey sky with a dull orangish-red glow isn’t as beautiful as you would think. It’s yucky and ugly. Another reason I hate being out during the day is because you can’t really steal anything without being a giant red flag to the guards. Unless you’re creative enough and make a decent distraction.

And boy is this place ever busy. It usually is. I pass the shouting vendors, trying to sell their for sale stuff, while the crowd of buyers are talking over each other to get a good deal on whatever is being sold. I admit, you can get some pretty decent stuff here if you know where to look. But only if you have the bits. If you don’t, good luck coming back with something.

At one point, a vendor grabs me and yells, “Do you want to buy fresh pasta? It was just made not too long ago! Yep, really fresh!”

I shove him off of me and say, “No. If you eve put your hooves on me again, you’ll live to regret it.” He didn’t say anything afterward.

When I got to the end of the marketplace, there is this stall, not accompanied by anypony. I see a chest of some sorts. Should I do it? Take the risk? Then again it would be going against my code as a thief.

I slink my way to it, and picklock it. Then…click. I open it and find a silver necklace. Better than nothing. I put it in my pocket, close the chest, and peek over the stall. Nopony in sight. Hm, maybe I can grow a liking to thieving in broad

Mrs. Van Bliven claims that her $25,000 necklace was taken, but image and text evidence suggest otherwise. For this reason, Mrs. Van Bliven should be arrested and the necklace is in her room. Mrs. Van Bliven had a motive to stage the heist in pursuance to gain insurance money from the “crime”. First, if someone were to break glass to get into a room, the fragments would normally end up inside the room, as the person is impacting the windowpane from the outside to gain access. The earth beneath their feet had long since morphed into oozing, black mud that sucked at their feet and legs. The pounding of artillery shells, the booming of massive guns, the sharp crack of rifles, and the smell of gunpowder were without pause. Blood-splattered bodies were sprawled on the trenches. The screams of agony and the earth-shattering crashes of shells would be enough to drive even the most stalwart to insanity.…

“Wait… I was under the impression that all infected areas been quarantined at this point,” Governor Lewis proclaimed. Everyone at the table kept their mouths shut, as they felt an intensity that would soon escalate into power struggle steadily increasing. “Governor!” Hanes said, sternly as he raised his voice back at Lewis while pounding his fist on the conference table. “This sickness has covered two major cities, several states, scores of counties, and a myriad of townships and municipalities throughout the northeastern corridor in less than a week.…

When reading The Everyday Writer, written by Andrea A. Lunsford, director of the program in writing and rhetoric at Stanford University, I realized the importance of revising and reviewing of writing. Learning the process of writing will help greatly; therefore, assignments in the future will be more advanced and proper. In fact, peer editing is a fantastic strategy for the perfect paper; sometimes when one edits their own work they might overlook a few things, having someone else edit the paper gives another perspective to the writing. Being open to another opinion and attaining other opinions can open the mind to improve the writing. Seaman High School, where I attend, offers the Writing Center, ran by students and staff is to help improve…

When I was younger I wanted to go to Harvard, that was my dream. Unfortunately, I was discouraged when I found out how much it cost to attend. However, that didn’t stop Selamawi Asgedom from not only attending Harvard, but getting a full-ride there. Growing up as a refugee in America, Mawi had to overcome many obstacles such as the appeal of stealing, the alienation from bullies, and the struggles of poverty, which then motivated him to work for what he wanted. The philosophy that if a person steals something small once, then the next thing that the person takes will be bigger, and then the stealing will escalate from there can be painfully correct.…

“The gates of thievery would open just a crack, and Liesel Meminger would widen them a little further and squeeze through” (Zusak 79). At that moment, Death asked: “would they have the goodwill to let her back out?” (Zusak 79). Both Rudy and Liesel steal throughout their time on Himmel Street and symbolically, others do, too. But do the “gates of thievery” ever fully close, or are they left open just a crack, so the good ones can sneak back out? In The Book Thief, Markus Zusak uses the motif of crime and stealing as fulfillment for the characters lost sense of power and control, their basic needs, and relief and healing for their pain.…

Savannah, Georgia is a populous city filled with people of all different cultures, but surprisingly there are areas which unknowingly combine several sub-cultures together to form one large culture in Savannah. Keller’s Flea Market, which is a family owned business started in March of 1965, is a prime example of a multicultural society that can be compared on a continental or global scale. The experience of the flea market began when I missed the turn to the parking lot. Instead, I was required to drive down I-95, turn off the next exit, turn around, and try not to miss it again. The first visit I made I was slightly worried my car would become stuck in the mud, because the parking lot is a grass field with fences, but I braved the possibility…
