There was a long silence in the kingdom. After a minute or so the king looked down at me “Make it quick Francis”.

A Lot of things went through my mind then. Should I just stand up to him? What if he is still angry? Will he kill me? I said “Sir after what happened last year I...I...told you not to have a party this year”.

“Do you mean when you let that man through into the castle and he killed my wife”

Everyone was staring now no one was saying a word. “Sir you know that wasn’t my fault”

“You were supposed to be guarding the castle then, while my party was happening”

“Yes but”

The king interrupted me with a loud voice. “BUT WHAT”

But I stood up to him and said, “But the man was over twice my height and he had a knife. He held it to my throat and threatened to kill me if I didn’t let him in”

“Let me guess, you let him in. Right?”

Should I tell the king? Should I try to prove that I’m not weak and fight them. Well I figured that me fighting them would not go very well, so I ran to the castle. I sprinted to the kings throne. And the king was very angry and said, “How did he get back in here” “I have some bad news king”

“Get him away from here”

“No listen, King Ralph is coming”

“What does he want”

“I told you that he would come back to kill more people if you had another party. This time he brought all of his knights to take over the kingdom”

Then the galloping of the horses grew louder. Then the door was kicked down and all the knights came in.

“What should we do”, said the king, looking more scared than I’ve ever seen him.

“Go out the back entrance my donkey is out there. Ride him away to safety” “And leave you to help protect the kingdom”, The king said sarcastically.

“Sir just let me try it will be my chance to prove myself to everyone’’

“Fine, what other choice do I have” he said, knowing some of his knights ran because they knew that King Ralph’s kingdom never got defeated. “But I have one job for you”

“What is it

The room itself was grand and ancient, with walls of rough hewn stone, polished granite floors, and a ceiling as high as ten men. There were eight long tables, the shortest on a raised dais along the far wall, and seven more set orthogonal to the first and extending to the entry. Sheaves of wheat and sprays of spring blooms adorned the walls, and cornucopias spilled fruits, nuts and candies onto each table. There were dancers, at least a dozen of them, draped loosely in silks of gold and rich green, ribbons of fabric that swayed as they swayed, dipped as they dipped, and fluttered about them as they spun. Along walls and in corners, on tables and among revelers, they danced in time to a rhythmic tune—singly and in pairs and trios, all moving with an agile grace, seducing guests with limber acrobatics and inviting smiles.…

I just got done with my shift to protect Camp Half-Blood feeling very tired and stressed. With the camp’s protection being down and most of the campers going back to their families for the summer, this meant that there were very few of us to guard our safe haven. Not to mention I was still recovering from my broken ankle. I decided to take a walk down to the beach near the camp. Lately, I’ve found the sound of crashing waves, wind brushing through my hair, and the slight smell of salt hitting my face very soothing ever since I had met my best friend, Percy Jackson.…

Her innocent, baby blue eyes stare up at me as she begs for forgiveness. Tears stream down her face, carving their path and leaving long stains on her cheeks. All hope is lost, and I know the girl is aware of that, for she weeps as she glances down at the bunny that lays limp in her delicate hands, staining her clothes crimson red.…
