Narrative – A Teenage Preganacy
In the bathroom of her mother’s house, sixteen year old Asia lay relaxed in the bath, looking at the ceiling above her. The bathroom was the reserved and peaceful place in the house. There was a glass window in the center of the ceiling, revealing the early morning skies. To the right of the bathtub where she lay, was a pink toilet adjacent to the white sink. The room was miniature and made of ligneous flooring, and as a result, there was little space to maneuver. Asia glanced down at her belly, which peeked out from the surface of the water in the bath. In the tub, Asia began to gently rub her nine month old belly with both hands, when she felt a sudden kick. She leaned over to reach the liquid soap at the bottom right hand corner of the tub, when abruptly, a sharp pain limited her. “Mom!” Asia screamed, but her mom, Dorris, who was hearing impaired, was not

”Asia responded, “hurry go call a doctor.” Another troubling problem arose; the bathroom door was locked from the inside. Ms. Dorris flew outside and fetched her muscular brother Josh. Meanwhile in the bathroom, Asia’s contractions were more frequent than before. She felt the propensity to ‘push’, so she started to ‘push’. Josh came rushing with Dorris at her side. “One, two, three!” Josh said, and thrust against the door, opening it. Suddenly, there was a cry. It was a cry of a baby. Ms. Dorris rushed in, cut the umbilical cord and took the baby from Asia.
Five (5) minutes later, the emergency unit arrived and took the young teen and her new born baby to the hospital. Two days later, Asia and her healthy, six and a half pound baby boy were discharged from the hospital. His face was round and as red a cherry, his tiny little hands could fit comfortably in hers, his nose and ears, lips and eyes were so miniature. She was instantly attracted to her child. Her pregnancy was a terrifying one, nevertheless, she got through the horrifying
