Creative Writing: My First Vietnam War

I then rammed my shoulder into the ceiling again, though I kinda forgot to warn my friends what I was planning and they both let out frightened squeaks. “Whoops, my bad dudes,” I thought to Tarin as she and Cass gave me a death glare. I made sure to shield them from the falling debris with my wings, and made sure they didn’t fall off as I rose up on my hind legs and began to climb out of the hole. The Hydra troops, who I’ve found have either the worst or best timing, chose to enter that room at that moment. The looks on their faces when they saw a huge blue dragon climbing through the ceiling with their unconscious prisoner in it’s talons and two other teenage girls on it’s back was priceless. Unfortunately, they recovered quickly and being …show more content…
It was like getting hit with a bunch of little needles, which still hurt but at least wouldn’t kill me like regular bullets. I swiped the soldiers aside with my tail and finally pulled myself up and out of the hole. It’s really harder than it looks to climb out of a huge hole, don’t judge me for taking so long. I saw more Hydra troops running towards us with guns a blazing. “Hold on!” I thought quickly to Tarin and waited, heard her repeat it to Cass and felt her tighten her arms around my neck. I took off, rapidly climbing through the sky against the wind. I love flying more than almost anything in the world. However, I don’t think my friends enjoy it as much as I do, since I can faintly hear them screaming. …show more content…
I took a deep breath to try to calm my nerves. I hate having panic attacks in front of people, especially my friends. Though, I haven’t been having them as often and I was getting better at calming my self down. When I first got to Shield, I could barely go ten minutes without totally flipping out. I would usually then pass out from trying to turn into a tiger or something to attack everyone. Fun times. “I’m fine.” I lied. “I had a nightmare, that’s all.” Cass gave me a sceptical look. Tarin on the other hand gave me a look that said something along the lines of “Dude, I can read minds and totally know you’re lying, but I won’t tell Cass because of reasons.” I mentally thanked her. “Really, I’m fine! You guys can go back to sleep now. Sorry for waking you.” I said, trying to be as convincing as possible. Cass studied me carefully for a few moments before sighing and informing me that Fitzsimmons wanted to see me in the lab and that she was going to go see Alexa if I needed anything. If you couldn’t already tell, Cass was the mother of the group, though I was also extremely protective. No one was hurting any one of my friends without getting through me first(rawr). I soon made my way down to the lab to go see my science bros. It had been ages since I had last seen them. I had really missed their accents. Their accents were really cool. Jemma was British and Fitz was Scottish. They greeted me with hugs as entered the lab. I love hugs and

It was a rainy morning in Seattle, and I wore my Army dress uniform. Stepping off the bus, I ran 100 yards to the entrance of the Airport. After I purchased my ticket and checked my bags, I headed to the bar. It was the time of the winter equinox, and I was headed home with my discharge in my duffle bag. I suppose I should have worn my civilian clothes, but I had been stateside six months, and the comradeship I experienced in Vietnam had yet to loosen its grip on me.…

Meanwhile, poor Sarah was home worrying about me, and the weather, which appeared particularly nasty. Texas is where we learned the phrase “tornado watch.” In fact, when we left Texas to finish flight school in Fort Rucker, Alabama she said she would never live in Texas again. At the time, I was too worried about dying in a helicopter crash or failing the next phase and “washing out” to give her the attention she deserved. We were newlyweds, and she forgave me-…

I got off my horse and as I walked off to a corner, I could smell the fear in my men grow by the second. The time before the battle trembled down, but I knew that with this amount of fear we would never win. I got on top of a pillar and looked around, in the past two days my army decreased nearly by half. Every man was scared, I could see the look in their eyes as I stared at them and they stared back with great distress. Trent went with the warehouse unit first in order to help them find it. Since learning of the easier way to approach the warehouse, and no longer afraid of being seen, the soldiers were able to make it to their destination in no time, but Trent still thought they couldn’t possibly be there a moment too soon.
