Creative Writing: Lot's Mistake

The land stretched out in front of them, smoke rising from blackened patches, the hills nearly leveled under the weight of the molten rock. Lot’s younger daughter, Bina, retreated back into the cave, her head hung to mask the tears on her face. I needed to protect God’s servants, and I had faith that God saw I was desperately trying to get out of the situation with Sodomites. Evicted, a New York Times Bestseller book written by Matthew Desmond, captured many faces of a culturally diverse population. Many parallel stories were narrated, yet each was unique and contained tremendous consequences as well as the depth of its kind. The beauty in Desmond’s writing was signified by his audacious remark, with words and sentences that provoked one’s deepest feelings. These allowed the author to develop a stronger connection with the readers as they progressed and psychologically experienced the multistage of sensations: from being awfully rejected to being openly loved, or from being wrongfully evicted to being warmly welcomed into a house. Multiple characters with distinct and rich background stories created a colorful book…

. . many highly respected Jewish commentators were unwilling to tolerate the concept of a human sacrifice in the Scripture” (Reiss 60). Therefore, the more preferable conclusion that the sacrifice of Jephthah’s daughter took place as a figurative sacrifice into a life of celibacy took form.
