Sherlock Holmes and I are sitting in Julia’s room, waiting for something to happen. We wait for hours and hours, but nothing happens. Dr. Grimsby Roylott snores as loud as a lion’s roar, I thought. I feel so bad for Helen. I cannot imagine losing a sibling, let alone an identical sister. She must have been horrified seeing the look of complete fear on Julia’s face while she was slowly dying. Poor Helen was standing there helpless, wanting to bring her sister back to life. I am utterly surprised that nothing bad has happened to us yet. I thought for sure that Dr. Grimsby Roylott was behind the whole scheme. I assumed he had murdered her and was going for Helen next; he was becoming poor, so he needed their will money. But, I can clearly tell …show more content…
The whole car ride was silent. I was sitting there in awe. Why would a girl kill her one week younger sister? She must have had a pretty good reason to murder. It looks like Julia will have plenty of time in jail to really think of her actions. “Hello, Helen. Or should I really say, Julia?” Holmes revealed. Julia turned around in her seat, about to say something. “Save it for the cops, Julia. You have been charged with first degree murder.” The cops arrested Julia, and told her that she would most likely be in jail for decades. What Julia did was just horrible. The car ride to prison was very awkward. “So Julia,” Holmes started, “why did you kill your sister?” Julia took a deep breath. “I did it because I was jealous. She was better than me at everything. Mom and dad always told me that I should be more like my dear sister, Helen. I was so sick of being their second choice. I could not take the pain of not being good enough for them. So, out of pure jealousy, I decided to poison Helen. I poured the poison in her night glass of water, and she drank it. The next morning, she was dead. I regret every single one of my actions. I was a soulless, ungrateful woman who killed her sister. I am a horrible person.” We arrived at prison, and Julia got out of the car and waved goodbye to Sherlock and I. “I’ll see you in 65 years!” she

It was a cold day in November 1959. Fog was covering the ground of the cemetery but every once in a while, the drops of rain and people passing by would separate the fog to reveal soft mushy ground, covered with a light layer of snow. Throughout the course of one’s life, there are many trials and tribulations with being loyal and receiving loyalty from others. The struggle with staying honest to one’s self and others is a human incompetence that arises from the indirect psychological warfare society and the media wages against individuals. The futuristic society found in George Orwell’s 1984 can be examined to reveal a deep message about what it means to be human by analyzing the characters of Winston Smith, O’Brien, and Julia. The three-pronged betrayal between the three dynamic characters will demonstrate the fragility of loyalty and the efficiency of psychological manipulation to break that loyalty. Winston Smith exemplifies all the characteristics of an observant and…

Personally, I am an individual that values justice and despite any length, I will support justice. Getting Away With Murder demonstrates several scenes where injustice rules over justice only because of the discrimination that lie within our hearts. If I was conscious in the era during the Emmet Till case, I would prove to the juries that the defendants are guilty (Where would Emmet be if that decompensating body that flowed down the Tallahatchie River wasn’t Emmett’s? If what Roy Bryant and L.W Milam said was true then Emmet would be at a relative that was in contact with his mother.) If possible, I would visit the funeral that was held for Emmet to honor the victim that was sacrificed to show the world the savagery that lie within a man’s…
