I can’t remember why I am on the ground
I see red lights flashing But I can’t move at all.
Now I know just where I am
My old neighborhood in which I played hopscotch
I haven’t been back here in a long time
It’s just a few streets away from where I now live
I am scared to look on what’s ahead of me
Once my eyesight becomes clear
I see bodies lying on the ground
Blood soaking the ground
In the wreckage I see my passenger buddies
All scattered about
No one responds to me
No matter how much I scream and shout
The bus that I had rode most of my life
Is now flipped over with windows broken
Entwined with a trolley
I can’t comprehend that this is happening
I hear police officers discussing this tragic event
