Creative Writing: Hurricane Katrina

With your help, we worked tirelessly alongside another ministry, who offered to oversee the construction, and built 52 beautiful new homes for these families, right on the same spots where the hurricane had destroyed their old “homes” (mud huts, small lean-to’s and some very small block buildings). Then we painted the houses and bought brand-new furniture, sheets, pots and pans, and everything these families needed to start their lives again. This was all possible because of YOU!
We also gave them new clothes, shoes, Bibles and garden seeds… And months later, their gardens began to grow and flourish! It was as if God had created an entire community and made it more beautiful than ever! Then the people began mentioning to me that the hurricane

I was so glad when it was finished, that I really did not want to get involved with now building a church in this difficult area.
But the Lord began to deal with my heart in such a way about this church, that I could not shake it. I could not sleep. I kept thinking about it over and over and suddenly realized that God was not through… The people had been praying day and night and “God was about to answer another prayer!” I have committed to building these people a new church and I need your help. I pray that we can work together, once again, and build them this church. Let’s build “the house of the Lord!”
We can build a brand new church right there in Fond Rouge for $45,000. This includes all the materials, labor, transportation and paint. Building this church would bring this tragedy into a full circle of happiness for these people. They now have beautiful new homes, on their own land, where they can grow crops and raise animals and survive, but they desperately want a church to worship in. They used to “fast and pray” in the cave, but it’s dirty

I am writing you this letter today because when I have had a problem in the past, you have always been there to help. If it were not for you, these people would never have new homes with furniture and gardens… and they certainly would not have the hope for the future that they now have. I am asking you to give a sacrificial gift of $500, $100, $25 or any amount. If God has richly blessed you or your business, or if money has come to you and you are praying about where to tithe to the poor, this is the place!
If you could sacrifice a larger gift of $1,000, $5,000 or more, it would help us build this church so much quicker, because the rainy season is coming. I believe with all my heart that as you give, God is going to bless you abundantly in ways you never dreamed of. He will “open the windows of blessings” upon you. I believe that God will pour supernatural blessings upon you that will be “pressed down, and shaken together and running over.” (Luke 6:38)
Please ask the Lord what to give and try to give your gift today. We need to buy truckloads of building materials, sand, cement, etc. and get this church finished before the heavy rains begin to fall. When I receive your gift, I will

While the reading passage enumerates the three types of damage often cited by the critics of the "Let It Burn Policy," the professor in the lecture effectively refutes the validity of each of these arguments by redirecting attention to the long term benefits that resulted from the recovery process. The first serious damage cited by the critics is the loss of vegetation. There was significant loss of trees and other vegetation in the park as some one-third of Yellowstone national park was engulfed by the fire. It would have been understandably shocking for people to witness the charred remains of trees and ashes left on the landscape. The professor, however, points out that vegetation did, indeed, return to the area, and more significantly, new forms of botanical…

Living to be 100+: Dan Buettner “How to Live to be 100+” conveys three different blue zones Okinawa, Sardinia, and California and how people in those blue zones live to be one hundred. He explains three simple ways a person can interact with their surroundings to gain a better perspective on how they may reach the age of one hundred: . He argues that a plant based diet with a multitude of exercise can exceed the human expectation on how long a person can live. Exercising while eating healthy contributes to a larger range of possibilities such as working until the age of ninety seven as a heart surgeon; however, our community looks upon this as outrageous. Today's communities such as mine are lucky if they even make it to the age of ninety seven,…

You would think people who have next to nothing in their lives, would want everything they could have their hands on. After spending a week with people who had less then me, I understood that I was completely wrong. I learned that people who have nothing are the most caring and empathetic. The people who lived at the camp we were staying at, greeted us with open arms and warm hearts. As a mission team, we were obviously caring people.…

This week when you receive the time and talent sheets, I want to encourage you to pray and see in what ways you could share your gifts to serve God with gratitude and thanksgiving. Let me tell you a story that illustrates what I am saying. It is the story of a man by the name of Pastor Rinkhart. He was pastor of a church in Prussia from 1619 to 1649, during the Thirty Years War in Europe. From the year the war began until the year the war ended, he was the pastor in the same walled city.…

William Branham, who took Christianity to an entire new phase- Presence of different religions and holy paths to follow made humans feel superior from each other which ultimately led to confusions, mis- understandings and then religious fights among them based on discrimination for their religion. This discrimination reached to the peaks when people started dividing one and other on the basis of caste, creed, color, religion and other things which are not in control of man but gifted by God and due to this discrimination only, man completely lost his mankind. Christians have been known to suffer through rough behaviors of people belonging to other religions because of their color (to an extent) and their different ways of worshipping the almighty and because of their different opinions and beliefs about the existence of the almighty. Many prophets or saints came forward to stabilize the situations for Christians at different times because of the Christian persecution in Middle East but situations needed some…

In the same way, Wanda does not have to completely leave her style of music and unlearn that. She can keep it as a reserve and use it when she is asked to conduct a concert. Since some churches like holding traditional styles of concerts, she can use that style of music when she is required to do so and she can also use it for prelude or processional hymns and, she can adapt herself to the demanded style of music. If the congregation favors the contemporary style of music, she can most possibly work in agreement with other church musicians, if the church is in a position to do so. If the congregation is comfortable with the idea of Wanda been given another chance, she can serve as the pianist or keyboardist, depending on the hymns.…
